A First-Year Evaluation of the Southeast Haiti Medical Facility

During SEHMF inaugural year, we recorded 1,252 patient visits during January 2025 to May 2026.

Adults: 370

Pediatric: 118 (including: malnutrition, periorbital facial abscess, flu-like symptoms, asthma)

Monthly visits exceeded 100 during 2026, peaking at 127 in March, demonstrating increasing demand for local primary care. Increasing utilization suggests growing community trust in locally delivered healthcare.

Temporary declines coincided with increased medication costs, high transportation expenses, and occasional clinic closures due to staffing shortages.
